About two years ago I grated out an area and brought in material for a nice medium size arena.  I don't have a round pen anymore so I do all my workouts in this area.  Also, just the perfect size for riding the horses.  Our area has "urban encroachment" so riding out into foothills is no longer available.  However we do have a lovely big county park that has a section with two arenas not too far.
